Description
Water Seed
Water Seed has a unique sound that reminds you of those soulfully inspired better days. They have all the things that you love about music blended into one harmonious identity: Growth. Though they have often been categorizes as Neo-Soul, this band demands respect from the hardest hip hop heads to the coolest old school jazz cats. Their soulful vibe has a way of getting into your heart and mind causing unexplained desires to sing and dance.
Considered one of the hottest and most exciting independent bands, Water Seed puts on a show that rivals national acts. Water Seed has generated rave reviews, playing the West and East coast, Midwest, and the South. Performances in several venues as well as festivals has increased their fan base by thousands.
Good music always prevails. Started on the campus of Xavier University, New Orleans, Water Seed has truly shown themselves worthy of all their past, present and future success. Fusing the musical influences of a culture
rich in music with today's HipHop, Funk, and Soul, Water Seed has a sound that has been mesmerizing audiences for some time now. Considered one of the underground soul movements best kept secrets, it is just a matter of time before Water Seed becomes a house hold name.
Water Seed returned to their hometown New Orleans music scene after a
successful tour of the county including the debut of their CD
Knowledge+Growth. While creating rave reviews, playing several local
venues, and increasing their fanbase, Water Seed was on a mission to bring the underground soul scene back to their roots. Water Seed was only months away from completing their second CD when tragedy struck. Hurricane Katrina, displaced all the member of this young band and totally devastated all property, lifestyle and livelyhood that Water Seed had spent their whole careers building.
Even in the chaos following Katrina, Water Seed found a home in Atlanta, Georgia. Finding a way to move forward, like all those effected, Water Seed got back to the business of making and expressing themselves through their music. Almost before filling the basic needs of food and shelter, they were knocking down Atlanta's doors searching for ways to return totheir first love, music.
Today, with the release of the EP (Two Words) and their second CD
(Butterfly Soul Vol. I), Water Seed is more than back. Continuing to
bring fresh sounds and inspired words, Water Seed has shown it has the
internal strength to make circumstances work for them and display new life through music.
