DaLink (the link), born J. Pittman was born in Atlanta, GA on June 19th, 1980. Growing up in the musically influential streets of College Park, Georgia he began to rap amongst his peers at the age of 10. At Camp Creek middle school in 1992, he teamed up with a childhood friend to form a rap duet called The City Boyz. At the age of 13, he opened shows for DJ Smurf, Kizzy Roc, and 8 Ball & MJG. He performed at Atlanta clubs in front of venue filled crowds. When he turned 14 he formed a neighborhood rap group called MCP and recorded his first unreleased album ITZUHCOLLEYPAWKTHANG (Its a College Park Thing) in 1994. While attending Benjamin Banneker High School in College Park, Georgia, DaLink wrote songs and rapped with rappers/ schoolmates such as Lil Weavah (A-Town Records) and T-Rock, formerly of the group Three Six Mafia on the Hypnotize Minds record label. Benjamin Banneker alumni also include artists such as Ludacris (Disturbing Tha Peace), Chris Sellers (of the group Another Bad Creation), Yung Joc (Bad Boy), and Akeni Jeffery (a local dj of Hot 107.9 in Atlanta) just to name a few.
After graduating from high school DaLink, along with his talented cousin Iceman met up with producer and friend, Cliff HANGER Herndon. Through an array of unrestricted, unorthodox beats, CliffHanger and Iceman helped DaLink tap into his hidden abilities and apply all of his prior influences in music to his current style, which elevated him to a higher level giving him an understanding of the music industry that he needed. He has since reached even higher levels in his abilities and laid his pen and pad to rest, choosing not to write anymore and to rely solely on memory. He has recorded in numerous studios and is aware of the long hours and strong work ethic involved.
DaLink is a star who has been waiting for his opportunity to shine and make history. Over the years DaLink has developed a fan base that has been anxiously anticipating his first mainstream album. He refuses to categorize himself as a local rapper, but will never forget where he came from, making music that people can enjoy and relate to all over the world.
DaLink's highly recognizable voice, explosive energy, and his ability to maintain his southern slang while also being considered as a lyricist makes him stand out in the crowd. DaLink has recently formed his own record label, Vice Grip Entertainment. This Label is always ready for change and is unafraid to take chances on a unique rapper with unique ideas.
